The Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards 2026

Jennifer Barry is a Senior Systems Engineer at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) who has led delegations to the United Nations and represented the UK in international conversations on space sustainability.

On winning, she said:

“I think it's a really good opportunity to link into the wider community, start promoting space to young girls and really get them involved in knowing the variety of different roles that are in in engineering and space. I also think it's really important to keep women engineers in their careers and give them the space to grow.”
